The AHB Extension Team has added three new videos for a total of six videos in the project’s digital library providing overviews of the project’s research goals and findings from all aspects of the project.
AHB’s compelling videos are featured in two video series. The first video series provides technical information and research updates from AHB. The series starts with the AHB’s Overview Video, which identifies the scope of the AHB project. In this series, viewers can also learn how to grow hybrid poplar for biofuels and learn about the structure of a bio-jet fuel Life Cycle Assessment. The next video in this series will explain the technical details of converting hybrid poplar trees to biofuels and biochemical and will be released later this summer.
The second series takes an in-depth look at each team that makes up AHB. The Feedstock, Conversion, and Sustainability Team Videos are completed and can be found in AHB’s Video Library. The Education and Extension Team videos will be available soon.
This video highlights how researchers use a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as a “cradle to grave” appraisal tool to understand the environmental impacts of producing poplar feedstock, converting it into bio-jet fuel, and distributing and using the fuel. Download video.
The video focuses on environmental, economic and social aspects of the biofuels sustainability and how this integrated effort will ensure developing a sustainable hardwood biofuels framework in the Pacific Northwest. Download video.
