Pilchuck Harvest Tour

May 9, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

The harvester approaching a row of trees at the Pilchuck site

We are happy to announce that the harvester is now working! Please join us for the Pilchuck Harvest on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM

The tour is “open house-style,” so drop by anytime. If you would like to come after 12 PM (noon), please email Cat Gowan (cat.gowan@wsu.edu).

The “poplar for biofuels” trees are getting harvested and chipped! Join AHB researchers, Extension agents, and other poplar enthusiasts for a free field tour at the AHB Pilchuck Demonstration Site. Attendees will learn about the harvest procedure, watch the poplar harvester at work, and learn about the uses of poplar farms in the Pacific Northwest.

Note: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to attend this field tour. Some PPE will be provided, but if possible please bring your own hard hats, high viz, and eye protection. No ear protection is required.
