Developing clean energy technologies will be a critical issue for the next generation of scientists and engineers. Regardless of career choice, energy literacy is important for all students. Biofuels and bioenergy have made great advancements in recent years and are gaining much attention both nationally and locally.
This workshop will give teachers the tools to integrate lessons about biofuels and bioenergy in the border context of energy literacy into their classroom. Teachers will be guided through hands-on lessons about energy (focusing on bioenergy) targeted at 6-12th grade. All of the lessons meet one or more of the Next Generation Science Standards.
