Stakeholders

Understanding Perceptions and Needs

Hybrid poplar as biofuel feedstock represents a new opportunity for growers and communities throughout the Pacific Northwest. However, for new crops and energy solutions to be successful, all relevant stakeholders must be involved in the decision making, including county Extension professionals, landowners, potential growers, policy makers, potential workforce, impacted communities, and interested citizens. To understand the perceptions of different stakeholders and the information they need, we are getting feedback from key stakeholder groups to evaluate their current knowledge and level of interest, as well as to identify any misconceptions or opposition regarding hardwood biofuels. This community-based feedback helps us develop relevant outreach tools and materials.
