SUMMARY:Short Rotation Woody Crop Conference
DESCRIPTION:At the Pike Place Market in Seattle\nJuly 17-19\, 2014\nhttp://www.woodycrops.org/UpcomingMeetings/ \nThe 10th Biennial Short Rotation Woody Crop Conference offers an opportunity to communicate practical knowledge on how short rotation woody crop (SRWC) production systems are being used and continually improved to provide economically sustainable feedstocks for the production of bioenergy\, bioproducts\, and solid and fiber products. \nThe SRWC Conference is co-hosted by the Advanced Hardwood Biofuels Northwest (AHB) Extension Team and the Short Rotation Woody Crop Operations Working Group. Researchers working on the AHB project will be presenting their work on short-rotation hybrid poplars as a feedstock for renewable biofuels. \nRegister online at \nView the draft agenda \nAbstracts: \nPlease submit abstracts for presentations by April 1\, 2014 and indicate your preference for an oral or poster presentation. After April 1\, 2014\, abstracts will only be considered for poster presentations. Details on abstract guidelines and submission can be found here. \n  \n  \n \nJoin us in Seattle at the historic Pike Place Market. Session will be held in the markets Atrium Loft and Elliot Bay Room overlooking Puget Sound. \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \n  \nThe Mayflower Park Hotel is the official hotel for the SRWC Conference. Accommodations are available at a reduced conference rate \n  \n  \n  \n \nPre-Conference Tour – Boardman Tree Farm \nJuly 16 & 17 \nThe 25\,000 acre Boardman Tree Farm\, located in northeastern Oregon\, hosts the largest drip irrigation system in the United States. Participants will be able to get an up-close look at GreenWood’s two new mills\, BCAP plantings\, poplar research plots\, pole planting technology\, and harvest operations.
