DESCRIPTION:Advanced Hardwood Biofuels Northwest invites you to join AHB researchers for a day in the field at the Pilchuck Demonstration Site! Come see hybrid poplar’s full growth potential in Stanwood\, Washington at the peak of their second growing season. As a purpose-grown crop for bioenergy\, the poplars have great potential as a sustainable feedstock for biofuel and bioproduct production in the Pacific Northwest. \nJoin extension professionals\, policy makers\, researchers\, environmental professionals\, and local landowners in learning about the latest biofuel and bioproduct developments in the Pacific Northwest. Topics include: \n\nGrowing hybrid poplar as a short rotation woody energy crop\nSustainable production and environmental impacts on soil\, water\, and wildlife\nBest areas to develop biofuel and bioproduct industries\nBiomass production tour highlighting operational and research poplar plots\n\nWhen: Thursday\, July 17\, 2014 | 10:00am – 12:30pm \nWhere: Stanwood\, WA \nRSVP: Lunch provided!
