Are you ready to plant poplar? Are you optimizing your planting strategy? This workshop will focus on the benefits municipalities gain from growing poplar and possible market opportunities.

  • Lessons learned from current poplar growers – Case studies from communities in the Willamette Valley
  • Poplar Markets:
    • Traditional and Emerging – chips and hogfuel, veneer, and cross laminated timber
    • Alternative – bioenergy, biofuels, and biochemicals
  • Strategies for growing poplar: choosing stock/cuttings, planting practices and costs, sizing rotations
  • Moving forward: optimizing poplar revenues, working together with stakeholders
