Join us for the
Poplar Harvest in Hayden, Idaho
at AHB’s “Poplar for Biofuels” Demonstration Site
Date and Time: TBD
Sign up now and we will let you know the details of the poplar harvest as they develop. The date and time of the harvest are dependent on the weather and the availability of the harvesting equipment. However, we do expect the harvest to occur in May.
The poplars at the Hayden Demonstration Site were planted in the spring of 2012. They were first harvested in 2013 after two growing seasons. Now, three years after the the initial harvest, the poplar trees have regrown to heights over 30 feet! Join us to learn about growing poplar as a biofuel feedstock and watch as the trees are mowed down and chipped in the field by the harvesting equipment.
