“Poplar for Biofuels” Field Tour in Clarksburg, CA

Advanced Hardwood Biofuels Northwest (AHB) invites you to join researchers for a day out in the field. We will be visiting AHB’s Clarksburg Demonstration site. The hybrid poplars will be showing much of their full re-growth potential as they continue into their second growing season after being initially harvested in the fall of 2014.

As a purpose-grown crop for bioenergy, the poplars highlight their potential as a sustainable feedstock for biofuel and biochemical production in Northern California. Lunch included!

Join Extension professionals, researchers, students, environmental professionals, and others in learning about the latest biofuel and biochemical developments.Topics include:

  • Growing hybrid poplar as a short-rotation woody energy crop
  • Sustainable production and environmental impacts on soil, water, and wildlife
  • Best areas to develop biofuel and biochemical industries
  • Biomass production tour highlighting operational and research poplar plots
